Greetings from Milwaukee, Wisconsin! Reveling in the humid din, the buzz of cicadas overpowers the freeway sound a block or so away from the host house as pollinators work the goldenrod around me. A Monarch butterfly sips milkweed by the garage. I’ve counted four different kinds of bees and even a wasp. Yesterday I listened to my old comrade Joey Santore extol the sensual virtues of various prairie grasses; when Mic started up the rental car, an fm station blared a couple gardeners discussing prairie ecosystems. Appreciating synchronicity.
